Zencity connects local leaders to the pulse of their communities by providing a platform for acquiring constituent input and generating sentiment analytics. With Zencity’s help, local governments can make effective budget, service and legislative decisions empowered by the trust built with their community members.

As Zencity grew into enterprise markets, they sought Block Club’s help to refresh their visual identity to create a more mature brand expression without sacrificing the energy that captivates top level decision makers. As Associate Creative Director, I helped to lead strategy workshops to define Zencity’s brand personality and direct its final expression in the identity system.

It was important to the client that we retain the essence of their circular brandmark. We created a refreshed mark in a single color with two interlocking halves—a handshake of forms representing the collaboration between government and community members. This connection was mirrored throughout the letterforms of the wordmark.

A lighthearted palette and icon system pair with abundant photography to create distilled, dashboard-based feature graphics in an approachable style.
